Great signs, John. Down in Georgia, where my layout is set, you can never have too many Coca Cola signs. Love the one with the car; if memory serves, it looks like one of the GM concept cars from the early fifties, maybe Oldsmobile(?)

Hi Steve,

I've gotten a ton of signs from this site so I'm tryin' to give back as well. Just tryin' to do my part.

By the way, I'm not sure on the history of the car...?

Guys, I really appreciate this thread and am wondering how would we date a sign that doesn't have a car in it to give away the time frame? Thanks Pat

But they say it: "CoCola" all fast like a 3 syllable word. Co'cola....

"y'all wanna CoCola and a Moon Pie?"

I am in the Netherlands so this sort of info is great. I model the present and found this site http://www.dribbleglass.com/subpages/strange/pictures.htm

Not neccessarily 100% prototypical though <<BG>>

I have a large sheet with old Coca-cola ads on one side. It was a freebie with Coke here some years ago. One side is old posters, the other is a set of playing cards. I never got around to cutting it out, Will look for it and scan it in

Some people might find the pin-up girl posts offensive . . . here's something nice and clean that I found in another forum:

Hi Guys:

Here is a sign from the F&SM RR. It was always one of my favorites and I happened upon it in one of my books.

Enjoy:

Karl S.

Forum Members,
I have posted my entire collection of signs for you here. 24 megabytes...574 signs.

http://myweb.cableone.net/u4easys/signs4layout.zip

There are also some files you can print and fold to make vending machines.

DISCLAIMERS....

A few dupes are in the zip file as I have not sorted it in a while.

There are a couple that may be offensive to some because they portray African Americans in an "OLD" manner or attitude. None of it is vicious..but there are some like "Blacky's" ink. I do not agree with this nor do I mean any disrespect by posting it. They are just signs from a period in our history.

My attitude is this...my dad opened a trash can in our backyard one day. He said, "Son what do you see?" I said "Huh?" "What colors do you see son?" I said, "White, Brown, Purple, Red, Black etc." He said "RIGHT...Trash comes in all colors. Remember that when dealing with people. Every race has its trash as well as good people."

Please let me know if you like them. This is one time I can pay back the forum for all of the expertise I have gained from here.
