Hi All:

Starting a new project. This will be construction of the Bar Mills O-Scale Saulenas as Hector's Tavern and Law Offices. Will post pic as I progress. So far I've stained the walls and painted the concrete sidewalk base. Stay tuned for pics as we go along ok

Hi Buddy
Can't wait to see the early shots of Saulenas, after just recently finishing my HO scale kit-bashed version.

Pete:

Just finished painting and assembling the base. Walls are the same color as Tylicks. 80% signal red and 20% box car red. Trim will be white with peeling paint. I need to find a nice big sign for that big blank spot on the rear wall. Next is brace the wall, my favorite job, and then assemble windows and doors.

Karl, I don't think you'll have a problem finding a sign in your basement. Looking forward to some pictures.

Karl,
I agree that this project sounds interesting but we need pictures.

Hi All:

Here's a few progress shots. Not much done yet. Walls are painted, Not completely weathered yet. Corner posts are installed. It's on to windows and interior bracing. Base is assembled and painted but needs final weathering.

Do you use a brush Karl, or a paint soaked cloth to get that uneven look? Very nice.

Karl,
The wall looks real good to my eyes.
Also like the sign that you picked out for the wall.

Looking good, Karl! Thanks for the photos.

I agree with Bags, the sign goes well with the wall color!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm a busy man. I have a railroad to run.

Hi All:

Thanks for all the kind words. The paint mixture is by my friend Frank Bernard. The peeling paint method is by Jim Mooney. It is done by staining the part first. Then black A&I stain is brushed on. Then white acrylic paint is dabbed on with a piece of terri cloth. I use old socks. Clean ones ofcourse. As for the sign that one comes with the kit. I need a huge sign for the rear wall. It has a very large blank area. I'll find something.
