Just make sure the file size is fairly small because it will have to be reduced even more to meet the size (pixel) limits for avatars. Also, the simpler the logo in design, the better it looks when reduced to avatar size. Elaborate designs or logos with lots of small lettering usually don't look very good when posted as avatars.
