For a couple details, I purchased two brands of baggage cart kits, from Bar Mills and Jordan. I didn't notice that the label reads "HO/S scale" on the Bar Mills package. I'll build them both and compare.

The parts sheet is 1/32" wood, only labeled HO here. Two identical carts.

Most of the pieces are quite fragile and assembled upside down.

The BM stake sides are a bit bulky. Just need to add the wheels.

Next, the Jordan versions.

Not many parts on this one...two identical carts again. Some suitcases and bags are included.

The platform and stake sides are slightly smaller than the Bar Mills.

The fragile and tiny axles are standard issue "Jordan delicate."

Side by side, Jordan's on the left & right, Bar Mills cart in the center. Bar Mills wheels are approx. a scale 34" in diameter, & the total height of the cart is 85". The Jordan wheels are 29" & the total height is 70". In my opinion, the Bar Mills version is definitely "S" scale, or 1/64. And, for HO scale, the Jordan makes more sense to me.

Till next time... final pix and thoughts

Nice job on the carts Carl.

Yes the smaller one does look more like HO.

Maybe in the future you can a bigger scale and use them!!

I agree with Jerry. The Jordan carts look best. Nicely done.

Inspector Carl an the Baggage Cart Caper.

I'd expect the Jordan carts to be "scale" since they are molded plastic while the Bar Mills are laser cut plywood.

I've worked in lasered plywood and it's a fine tuning operation to get the cut just right without burning the fine details.

At any rate I'm sure they'll look fine on the build. After all a Smart Car and a Hummer are both cars but different sizes too.

Maybe the Jordan carts can be up on the higher platform and the Bar Mills on the lower, track level deck.

Carl, your station platform looks good & solid.
I'm certain who ever ends up owning this beautiful station will be very proud to have it featured on their layout.
As for the baggage carts, I like the look of Jordan ones better.
However once they are all loaded up with luggage & parcels, I think it would be harder to tell them apart from each other.

Iíll have to vote in favor of the Jordanís. The other is so out of proportion. Some things should just not be attempted as laser kits in HO.

Jerry, George, Kevin, Frank, Bill, Greg and Michael thank you for your comments and opinions.

Sounds like we are in agreement about the Jordans' baggage carts being better suited in this case. I'll try to place one in the final pictures.

Both carts look nice, just wouldn't mix them in the same locations.
