I waste a lot of time looking for small tools in my very messy work area. So I took some empty pill bottles and glued them to a piece of wood using silicon sealant.

I then filled them with paint brushes, Xacto knives, emery boards, tweezers, files and you can even use them for stripwood.

Darryl,

What a great idea. I've been collecting pill bottles by the dozens. I was saving them and thinking of hanging them from a shelf. Not so good of an idea. It was hard to release the bottle from the cap with those child proof lids. I like your idea better.

Off to the shop later to try out your idea. Should neaten up my workbench.

Good idea, Darryl. I have a pill bottle taped to a leg on my workbench for disposing old razor and knife blades.

At my age, pill bottles are easy to come by.

Great tip, Darryl!

Those little bottles can be used for a variety of things. I mix paint, store little bits and pieces (label the front of the bottle so you can find the stuff "later on!!!"), clean brushes, stash liquid adhesives for precision application and so on. There are all kinds of interesting things one can do with these little gems.

But mostly I stash handrails, glad hands, windshield wipers, little details and such that I pull from some locomotive destined for the paint shop. A tight cap and a label on the front are necessities!

As George said: "At my age, pill bottles are easy to come by."

So off to the shop after a second cup of coffee. Cut up some Luan plywood and preceded to glue some bottles to the plywood.

Now I need to find my workbench under all the debris that's accumulated.

Funny, I use coffee mugs. The pill bottles would be good for the small stuff.

Nice collection, Bernd!

Those bottles are also good collectors of minuscule screws, nuts, washers, odd-sized screws, metric, Imperial and so on. Just Label the bottle when you use it and Don't Depend on Memory!!
