Greg, I very much look forward to following along. As was stated, artist meets artist. I built kit 25 through 195. In 1982 I stopped until this year. I now concentrate on O scale.
I also look forward to the humor you add.

Thanks! So much everyone, for your supportive responses.

Thom, I enjoy in taking lots of photos in my builds.

Bob, it's nice to return to my workbench with a relaxing kit, that's not to taxing on my brain.

Jeff, I hope you are right!

Karl, your double posting to this thread shows how eager you are to see me do this build.

Frank, I hope I make you laugh as much as you make me laugh!

Ted, I will try to do my best for you!

Bob, always nice to see you appear again for another one of my builds!
As long as I don't hear any sirens, or see any flashing lights in my rear view mirror.

Carl, sounds like you've got your whip out already!

Ed, I will attempt at injecting some humor into this build somewhere along the way, that's just part of my nature.

Thanks again everyone!

Greg

Greg, This is going to be good! Will the finished model find a home on your layout or go elsewhere?
(Since you are just beginning to build it you could give it a working title "Ima Starten" instead of I.M. Dunn. Ima was quite a gal.)

Thanks! Bill.
I hope this will find a place on my layout one day.
As for "Ima Starten", I'd prefer "Iva begun".

Greg

You know that the cold weather is coming when the modellers, up north, start building kits. I will have a seat in the back row. I'll let the newer people sit up front to see how Greg does his magic.

Hey Brad, nice to hear from you!
No need to sit in the back row, the great thing about RRLines is, everyone gets a front row seat to the action here.

Much more fit than I, at least he owns the kit!!

And here I thought your Fort York build would have "DUNN" you in!
Looking forward to the build and especially the newer lighting techiques and materials you are advancing.

When I started my current layout (1992) I used 12 volt bulbs running at about 8 volts. Way too late for me to change now!! (I must have over 1,000 bulbs lighting up the buildings on the layout!)

Thanks for your postings, John, Thom, Karl & John.

John, it's my pleasure to share this build with all of you!

Thom, I'm going to put you in charge of snacks & refreshments during this build.

Karl, so far you have been this threads most frequent poster. Keep up that good work!

John, my battle with Fort York is over, this build will be my victory lap.
Regarding the switching from old incandescent type lighting to newer LED lighting.
I wouldn't want to change over a 1000 incandescent bulbs either.
I would however try to use LED's in any newer structures that I built in the future.
It's kind of like DCC now, could you now imagine not switching your layout from DC to DCC now?
And didn't that switch to DCC make your layout operations so much easier!
It's exactly the same with LED lighting!

Now regarding this build, George's instructions tell us he built this scene on a 1/2 inch thick piece of plywood that measures 11" inches by 13" inches.
I've been thinking about making my base a little bigger, and rearranging the placement of buildings a bit.
I look at what George has done in his photos as only one possibility for this kit's final layout.
I like it when you change it up a bit, and really turn it into your own unique version.
So that's what I'm going to do with my kit.
Heading to the hardware store today to try and find some of the Rust-Oleum & Krylon spray paints that George suggests using on this kit.

Stay tuned!

Greg

Greg,

I was wondering if you were going to modify the kit at all. You answered that question.

It's just not sporting to follow directions.

Mike
