ODE TO RAFTERS: (with apologies to Dr Suess)

I hate rafters when they're tall.
I hate rafters when they're small.

I hate rafters when they're big.
I hate rafters using a jig.

I hate rafters after three beers.
I hate rafters, they bring on tears.

I hate rafters in the spring
I hate rafters more than anything thing.

I hate rafters in the fall.
I hate rafters, BURN THEM ALL!

Cheers Tom.

When I post a project, I won't just write about the successes. One of the things I will always do is also mention the failures, the bad assumptions, the things that went wrong. Some times they can be more important than the things that went right. Hopefully they save others from making the same mistakes, or at least provide you with a a laugh as to how anyone (me) can be that stupid.

Did I mention I hate rafters?

Haven't posed in a while because Model railroading is a cold weather hobby or me. now that it is spring, headed to Summer it's time to swear at automobile issues and repairs for the next several months.

To be continued next fall.

About Oct 1 I will get back to this project. For me, model railroading is not a summer sport.

Ok so I lied about getting back to this in October. It is Thanksgiving and I have actually looked into the layout room again. Considering the nature of the dormers on the roof.

The neatness comes from using extremely thin solder made for printed circuit boards, not at all what you'll find at Home Depot. Likely that I bought it twenty years ago at Radio Shack or an electronics supply house.
