For anyone who has built a warf, did you sand the sticks flat before weathering or staining????

Dave,

I've built quite a few wharves/docks, and I actually always stained and painted boards before laying them down. However, the individual planks were not that much difference in width. I only sanded any extremely high spots. Leaving the rest alone will give it more texture, which is a good thing.

I didnít stain first because I didnít have the stains yet, I always stains first but in this case I went backwards.....

It should turn out all good as I didnít get flu on them

Put some driftwood stain down on the planks, no to make the tie off poles and start the detailing process
