Just checking in, grabbing a coffee and taking off. Overcast today so working outside won't be too hot, which is good.
Have a good one.
Cheers,
Dave

Almost lunch time so I'll skip the danish. Tweetsie Hopper kits are gone (25), not sure if I should order more parts.
Nice weather so I'll be outside this afternoon.

Long day has come and gone. Window replacement contractors were in; I got some house siding replaced where it was rotting - ran into what I am assuming is a bee's nest (bees kept coming out of the insulation, so I think it is a good assumption) and that put a halt to the siding replacement. Managed to do a little modelling - put on some rolled roof on my hoist house and trimmed up the tipple a bit.
Gonna sit back, sip some port, and relax. Tomorrow, my week starts afresh.
Cheers,
Dave

Morning all,
Thanks for the coffee and burritos.
Another dry day on the mainland. 27 days without rain - a record since the 60's.
Better to get outdoor work done though.
Have a good 'un.
Cheers,
Dave

Almost 8:00 pm EDT sitting on the screened porch and finishing a bottle of Pinot Noir. Guess I recovered from my two weeks of celebrating my 70th birthday because I got stupid and mowed the lawn this AM - HOT work. Finished about noon, showered and went to the office for 2-5 floor duty. Beginning to think that working while retired isn't so great. Maybe I should focus on trains!

Bill, between taking care of my wife, and doing housework my days are full. I am also planning to move back to our home state Missouri. So I have to putvtrains on hold. We are hoping to make the convention but time will tell.

Coffee and coffee cake! Mark, you're the best! Fred, you have a servant's heart (and I mean that in the best way). Being a full-time care-giver is tough. You are an outstanding example of what it is to be a man and a husband.
Bill, only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the noon day sun.
Have a good day, all.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi Everyone - It is 6:45 am Friday here at the Museum in Ipswich. From next Monday I will have only 10 days until I finish work - well 8 days actually as the last two days will be taken up with parties to celebrate my departure. . Thursday I will be in Brisbane at the main Queensland Museum where I believe Cultures & Histories staff will be taking me to lunch and drinks afterwards while on Friday The Workshops Rail Museum staff will be hosting a morning tea along with workers from the Queensland Railways workshops next to our Museum.
Our new Curator starts next Monday and I believe my manager is drawing up an extensive program that I will have to cover with him in the following 8 days.
I have been lurking this week and have not posted anything so I see the Lounge has gone quiet again. To jazz it up a bit I have been busy in the staff kitchen and barbecued some choice rib fillet steaks, fried eggs (sunnyside up), hash browns, crispy bacon and some sausages along with toast and coffee and tea. Please join me.
Pauline's birthday last Wednesday and our 42nd wedding anniversary next Wednesday. A family dinner at a local tavern last Saturday and a quiet dinner with just the two of us at an Italian restaurant near home this Saturday.
Best Regards
