Hi Everyone - It is 6:30 am Monday at the Museum in Ipswich. I have just 20 working days to go until I can hang up my curator's pad and pencil. I am over my chest infection and aching lower back just stuck with a chronic cough caused by ??. Doctors are stumped however I carry on. Mark and Fred I can appreciate your health issues and wish you both the very best and take care. At least this great hobby of ours can occupy as much time as we like and allows us to create. I have made some scrambled eggs on toast (I managed not to burn it today) plus crispy bacon. Tea and coffee also available - please join me. I spent some time in the T-Shed on the weekend starting to tidy up ready for the Tuesday Nighters who are coming over on the 1st August. Yes! - it will take me that long to tidy up. . I am still dreaming about the track layout for the lower level and wondering whether or not to include a staging yard of some sort. I am also making final arrangements for Pauline and my visit to the United States to attend the 37th NNGC in Denver. We have just had our ESTA Visa applications approved. Is there anyone else on this Forum who will be going? If so, I would hope we might be able catch up. Best Regards David Mewes Curator The Workshops Rail Museum

After a week with 5 grandkids under 7 and their parents in our house we flew to St Thomas US Virgin Islands this morning for 5 days in a luxury villa with our oldest son and his wife to celebrate my 70th birthday. No trains in view but lots of boats running around between the islands!

Hi all, Time for afternoon tea! Scones, hot water, and a selection of fine teas for your pleasure! Managed to squeeze some good hobby time in this weekend (to the detriment of 1:1 chores). I will have updates to post on my Whiskey Gap & Southern. Have a good day! ...and to David, good morning! Cheers, Dave

Good morning all! Another day of sun, which is nice, but the continued dryness is causing lots of forest fires around BC. Big devestation again this year. I am relieved that we sold our house in that area some years ago because I would be freaking out about now. On a better note, eggs, pancakes, beans, coffee, and sourdough toast is on the menu today. Cheers, Dave

Well, I played hooky yesterday and went to the gulf to go swimming. Nice and relaxing. I did get Sun burns on my shoulders. Still getting set to move. We are leaving Alabama for the Missouri ozarks.
David, Love The scones! Made some chocolate and had two.

Brought by four pan pizzas. Three meat lovers and a Hawaiian pan. Theirs,a 24 ok of Coors and some soda too.
Every one enjoy!!
Here's a,question on. My thread about my future layout i asked if Anyone has an idea, what color to paint my combine. It's going to be a mow or business type car. Silver is out of the question. Fred

Mark - Please get that checked out. I am concerned for your well being. I have put some fresh hot scones on the counter this morning with jam and cream. There is fresh coffee and tea also available. Please join me. It is 6:45 am Thursday here at the Museum with another chilly start with the temperature outside 3 degrees centigrade. I have to go to the specialist this afternoon to have a cortisone injection in my shoulder and was going to use that as an excuse to take the day off. However, my big boss, the Principal Curator is bringing out the newly appointed Senior Curator for her to see where she will be working. She does not start until well after I finish work so she will never be my boss but I was just curious to meet her. I will have to leave work later this morning to make my medical appointment. Take care everyone. Best Regards David Mewes Curator The Workshops Rail Museum
