I thought that we would start off the summer months by focusing on one of our favorite topics - details. This time, however, featuring those details we add to our structures to spice them up. From corbels to scuppers, electric meters to exterior lighting, signs to fire escapes, roof vents to chimneys, you get the idea.

I once again caution everyone to keep copyright issues in mind. If you didn't take the picture, it isn't yours to post. Links to photos on the web are allowed, however.

In consideration for those on dial-up, please keep your photos to 80KB or smaller.

Nice start to this gallery Bruce & Rick!

When it comes to details on a structures, this one I built to honor our dearly departed friend Mike C.
Has a lot of vehicle related details hanging on this structure.

Good Topic, and a great start to the thread Greg and all....

My HO Scale Fruit Market has some apples in crates, signage and a bunch of pallets with a "herringbone" deck.

This is a City Classics kit I built for a display layout. The signs, awning and flag were added.

Great stuff, guys!

Some of you have seen this already, but here are a couple shots of my latest structure. All the signs were hand painted:

I really like that building Ray. The signs and the coloring are just so right!

There are so many outstanding modelers here who have shared their works over the years that we could do a thread dedicated to just a single person and their detailing abilities... So I concur with Greg, this should be a great thread.

I'll throw out one to cover some of the 'standards' as noted in the opening post, outside plumbing, signs on the building, a covered entrance with support rods, broken siding boards, electrical box and connection and of course a light for the sign.

Life is to short to build all of the models I want to.
