Here are some threads to help with posting pictures here at Railroad-Line.
There is also some general tips listed to help with the posting of pictures.

How to Post a Photo - REVISED 12/23/06 - http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15110

How to resize photos for posting at RRL - http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5383

posting photos using FireFox/Mozilla - http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18629

Posting pictures to the forum and file size - http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=36807

Usually the two biggest problems as to why a picture won't post is size and naming convention.

Keep the long side of a picture at 800 pixels and save at a medium resolution.

Use only letters and numbers when you name your picture.

If you have any other questions let us know.

I did an illustrated tutorial here, too. http://www.earlyrail.org/how-to.html

But it would sure be A Good Thing if the forum software were updated to make this easier. (Kitforums.com's software is a lot better in this regard.)

Hi,
I'm not sure where this question should be posted, but when I view postings in the Forum it is not unusual for many photos to just display what looks like a broken link icon. Is that just me, or does everyone see the same thing.
thanks,
Dennis aka JawboneFlats

There are lots of older threads where pictures can no longer be seen.
That is because members linked to their pictures on a photo hosting site such as Photobucket or on a blog or personal website.
If the site that is being linked to is edited or removed the picture can not be seen here.
For that reason we have always encouraged members to upload their pictures directly to the RR-Line server.
Doing this takes a little effort and there is a learning curve, but once you've done it a couple of times it is quick and easy.
