Something different: Video of a Durango & Silverton narrow gauge railroad double header. Video shot in 2006 at the National Narrow Gauge Convention. See the single engine train leave Durango, then see it again at Hermosa Junction where the second steamer couples on front. The best part is right near the end as the double header leaves and whistles for the crossing, hear the whistle echo in the nearby hills. Took the video with my Kodak digital still camera, all the while shooting stills too!

RGS #25 is rounding the bend in the corner of David Steer's narrow gauge layout up this way in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

She's piercing the bridge crossing the chasm.

Here's something different... this cute little 3-foot gauge 2-6-0 is on display in the historic mining town of Pioche, NV:

This locomotive was purchased from the Chicago & Northwestern RR in 1927, for use on the Pioche Pacific RR.

You can see more photos of it, including details, beginning here:

How about something a little bit different? This is the ash pan of Engine #40, a 3 foot gauge 2-8-0 on the Georgetown Loop RR taken in 2003.

My HO standard gauge railroad (the Roanoke and Southern) gave way to a new On3 railroad, the Slater Creek Railway which is based off the Manns Creek Railway (but just around the river bend).

The is my re-detailed Kemtron shay with a scratchbuilt cab / tender.

A regauged Bachmann On30 (now On3) Climax with a scratch built Buck Jimmy.

here are 16 scratch built Manns Creek style 20 ton coal hoppers, I have 17 finished.

And my scratch built Manns Creek style caboose

the hopper cars carry live coal loads and they all have operating doors and dump coal, next will be constructing a working loader.

I guess you could say I got bit by the narrow gauge bug.
