As far as appearance goes, it's not great, but the ease of use a reliability of operation puts Kato's UniTrack at the top of my favorites list, followed by Peco's code 55 track, which looks great, but must be ballasted. I really don't like ballasting...
Unitrack all the way. It's bulletproof. The turnouts have the machines built into the roadbed and they are safely, and inexpensively operated using the BCD circuit. Over a hundred modelers are using BCD now with great satisfaction.
I built a layout on a door once and used Kato UniTrack on the main and Micro Eng. Code 55 on the siding and industry tracks. I painted the track with NeoLube and everything worked just fine. But I Had a hard time keeping the trains on the track when I closed the door...... cf7
I should add that the next 2 layouts I built using Atlas Code-55 track and switches with Caboose Ind. ground throws and never had a problem. So I guess it would be between Kato and Atlas. They both worked good for me. cf7
Hi Tyson!! Thanks for the welcome!! I have to say though I actually model in both N-Scale and H-O Scale. I have 2 N-Scale railroads stored in the basement and an H-O scale RR along a wall in my living room. I love the sound in H-O scale. But I love N-Scale when space is limited. The quality of N-Scale cars and engines has come close to H-O scale. Thanks again for the welcome!! Russ
