Thanks Larry.

I'd need to look in that project box to refresh my memory but I'm almost positive I bought NWSL On3 wheelsets for those dumpers.

Two good references on the Palmetto Brick Railroad:

Trains Magazine, March 2006
Railroad Model Craftsman Magazine, August 2011

Very nice work, Matt. I guess they are scratchbuilt?

Thanks, yes they are scratchbuilt. Initially I built one and tried resin casting the parts but found that building them assembly-line fashion using a NWSL Chopper was easier.

Matt,
Can you share any dimensions? Did you get to measure the prototype or are you estimating?

They were built from just photos. There were a few 'practice' dumpers. Once I was satisfied with the proportions, I built the four in the photo. They were built using stock sizes of styrene strip, angle and rod from Evergreen Scale Models. I'd be happy to provide dimensions and a material list but it might be a few days.

Matt,
That information would be helpful. No rush as it may be months before I try to build one.

Matt,

Fantastic work. Well proportioned, clean, accurate looking cars. Wow!

Hi Guys,
Matt, those are very nicely done. It would be great if you could maybe post a drawing or you dimensions. Are you going to scratch the solid style side frames like these?

I have wanted to build some with that style side frame.Look forward to seeing how you finish the cars.

Matt mailed me one of his cars so I could take measurements. Let me say he is one fine scratch builder.
