Greetings Folks,

I hope this is okay here, OO9 is pretty close to HOn30 so I'm going to chance it. I'm also being pretty non-choosy about what I'm using for OO9 (which is 4mm/foot or 1:76), having some HOn30 and 1:72 scale bit that look 'right'.

I've had a number of Roco, Jeuof and Egger-Bahn skips for a while and always like watching them getting pulled around by a little critter of some sort, but I've never liked the big wire loop couplers they seem to all use. So I came up with a simple, cheap and easy system:

Just three links of chain and a rail spike, I think it looks much better.

I've got some new models half complete and I'll post some pics shortly. I've also found a source for a WWI era armoured Simplex, so I'm quite excited about that.

More shortly,

-Cody

Here's a Nigel Lawton V-tipper with brake that I assembled a while back, but don't think I ever posted:

These are nice little white metal and resin kits. Just needs some paint.

Here's the two latest bits of rolling stock I'm working on, both in the works. The first is scratchbuilt, built to resemble a typical WWI flatcar:

The second is a scratchbuilt flat platform riding on two Nigel Lawton skip frames:

I have a couple more OO9 kits to build and some HOe Roco and Jeuof items that I'm looking forward to modifying into some early industrial and military style models. I'll keep this thread updated as I finish stuff off.

I have been, and have been having allot of fun with it. I've felt like I was in a modelling rut recently but am back on the upswing.

Thanks folks, I tend to wander off the beaten path a good portion of the time.

Jeff, the new camera is a Ricoh GRD IV, which has some pretty incredible macro capabilities. It can close focus to 1 cm.

Greetings folks,

I got started on a Meridian Models kit for a Rail Motor Co. 'Protected' Simplex finally. I've been looking for one of these for ages and finally just contacted Meridian, placed an order and had the kit in my grubby hands in no time! It's a pretty basic white metal/etched brass kit with one of (I think) Nigel Lawtons mechanism kits, which I have assembled but not running great yet. I've also glued the four main white metal parts of the body together. Pictures to follow shortly.

Cody,

I would be interested in your views on the performance of the chassis.

Looking forward to progress of your project.
