Those are nice videos. I tried his technique of cloud painting but was not satisfied with my results so went with the hazy cloud look instead. I wish I had seen the second video before I painted the backdrop because I like the effect and would have tried it also.

looks easy so maby I will give it a try tanks for the post, yesterday I read something in an 1986 railroader about airbrushing clouds to your background also very effective

Fun to watch. Like so many skills the real pros make it look ever so easy and effortless. The results are stunningly beautiful but I suspect that it takes practice, practice, practice, patience, persistence and more practice to get to this level of mastery. I'm in awe.

We need someone to do a timelapse film of Karl O. building one of his masterpieces. That would be one we would all watch over and over.

Thanks for sharing. Although I haven't painted any clouds yet (And not sure I dare to:-)) I can also recommend Darryl Huffmans DVD on Easy Backdrop Painting - Mountains and Valleys which has very good chapter on cloud painting.
