I love the story! I think that Gordo was a member of "The Flying Burrito Brothers" in a former life.

Great story, Verne!
"...a smoking crater behind."
That also describes Gordo's backside after the explosion!
Dallas, love the "finger-pulling" sign!

Thanks, gentlemen...Gordo was one lucky guy! to survive that, um, accident!
Teaspoon, I think Gordo WAS the original Flying Burrito Brother!
Ray, he looks darn good in that last photo considering what he went through...maybe he wears that special flame-proof nomex that race car drivers wear?
Andy, there will indeed be more stories, thanks for your interest!

Dallas, you are way ahead of me here (again)! Once I picked myself up off the floor after laughing so hard, I realized it would be fun to share some of the FRIJOLENE marketing strategies - both the homerun hits and the blunders. Here are a few simple ideas to add to your great visual:
FRIJOLENE: Release the Bean!
Or how about a series of signs, like the old Burma Shave ads:
It started with a CRATER... and still there's nothing GREATER! The power of the BEAN... Insist on FRILOLENE!
Any other ideas? Bueller? Bueller?

I can't believe I'm sitting here trying to "seriously" think of something for this!
Burma Shave style:
Beans, beans the magical fruit the more you eat the more you toot
the bigger the toot the better the bean only the BEST make FRIJOLENE
start of another (join in!): The rumbling sound that shook the ground ...
and making something about the "joyous" sound of a band of butt trumpets playing a joyful song that illuminated the whole town ...
I think I'd better go do some work or something now ... this is warping my brain! (Of course, the first time I fart while working, I'll think of a new slogan.)

"power at the pull of a finger"
i also noticed today in the railroads monthly meeting minutes, that talks have been going on with the folks from frijolene in getting some shipments over to iowa.

Burma-style "safety" slogan!
Holy Frijole that heavenly sound unleashed a fuel that lit the whole town
No need for excuses silence or shame but always be CAREFUL when lighting a FLAME!

John --
Have a look here: http://sonoragrandeenterprises.com/esgrr/Trading/trading.html
to see how you can have a supply of Frijolene delivered to your railroad! (Not that the stuff is really in short supply.)
