Well here is the new beginning of SPF on Railroad Line Forums, hopefully the beginning of or continuation of a great thread. For those who have not seen it on the Atlas Forum it is a place to show your latest model work in photos. Please be kind, not many of us are as gifted as Tom Johnson, but most of us aspire to his level. So no bad comments, please. I am posting some photos to get us started. These are photos of Cliff Coutinho's Old Colony and South Shore

Good morning guys!
Thanks for starting Ray!
Here are a few photos of my last two remaining covered hoppers I had left to weather (until I purchase more :o)). Both are Tangent PS4000 covered hoppers. I used a wipe off method with a flat end brush, oils, plenty layers of Testor's Dullcote, more oils, and some feathering along the bottom edges and general overall blending with an airbrush. I used AIM chalks for the trucks. I first airbrushed a mix of Floquil Roof Brown and Grimy Black onto the trucks. While they were still tacky (right after the wetness of the paint goes away), I scrubbed in a mix of dark rust and black chalks. I then scrubbed the trucks more with a clean stiff brush and blew off the excess with my airbrush. Doing that along with the paint underneath gives the trucks a cool "rusted" metal finish.

Great stuff, good work. One of these days I'll put up a few of my own latest project but for now, just using these for inspiration. Bill

Thanks for the great weathering Tom and I love the cabin in the woods. For those that would like to see more of Cliff's layout as well as some more of the layouts on our spring layout tour 2012. Go to The Tour bus forum and open the links to the Layout Tour 2012 and open the links to photos including those posted by Dave McDonald. Here is a model of my own. This is a building under construction built for the Providence Northern RR club layout. For more see www.providencenorthern.org

I attended the Rutland Railroad Historical Society's annual convention yesterday in Malone, New York. One of the great models on display was this scratchbuilt HO Scale Model of the Rutland's Malone Station. Built by Andy Clermont, who's layout was featured in the 2010 Issue of Great Model Railroads.
Front view - Iconic view published in many post cards, photos and books about the Rutland. Left side was the passenger station and office, the Right side was the REA building.
 Side View, Facing North.
 View of the back
View facing south, showing the REA truck loading.
 Post Card showing the original.
This station is now a Bank and offices for the Village of Malone.

Thanks for posting Lou. What you can't see is how beautifully it runs. Lou brought it to our club on Saturday and it runs like a Swiss watch. Thanks for posting Lou

Here is a cab forward pulling a train of Accurail reefers. The accurail kits are really nice and easy to build. I used Microscale decals to decorate them in PFE livery.

My completed Chicago & Northwestern F7 #411. The 411 was used in Chicago push-pull commuter service and is now fully restored and still running at the Illinois Railway Museum.

A photo of another model I did of a locomotive preserved at IRM. Milwaukee Road 37A is an E9 built in 1961 for service in Chicago commuter service.
