But there was one problem. With modules you have problems to get any grades. So I came to the idea to build a permanent layout in this room. It was the pdf-file from an article from the late John Armstrong in MR Jan 1962, "To Hardscrabble, the hard way: a track plan". There he describes the PUEBLO & SALT LAKE RR in a 11 x 12-foot room. Here's my idea for my 13' x 16' room. This is the lower part with the staging yard. You see a lot of dual gauge track and turnouts. And the part with the narrow gauge line to the second level. But for the first time I will incorporate a few of my modules. You see Salina and Fiddletown at the second level. This way I can operate the layout and do some scenery. And this is the room with backdrop and the first parts of benchwork.
