This looks pretty interesting and it is not too far off and a pretty close drive. I am planning to go ("fingers are crossed")... have lots of cash I want to spend... Just might be able to make it down for a day or two. I have it tentatively marked on my calendar.

Not been to one of these shows before - but looking forward to the dealer room.

Who all is planning to go?

I was seriously thinking of going but don't think I can get that week off for vacation.
Wasn't planning on buying anything.
Main goal was to meet up with forum friends and see some spectacular layouts on the tour and the entries in the contest room.

As you think, so will you be.

I was seriously planning to go about three months ago but costs for the new bathroom ($12,000) and now costs for some electrical work (higher capacity power cables to the house) and also air-conditioning in the train shed (total about $7,000) has, unfortunately, meant my funds for the trip have evaporated.

I had also planned to spend a few days at the State Railroad Museum in Sacramento (with whom we have a relationship) and also several days visiting each of the Silverton and the Cumbres and Toltec Railroads.

Now, all hopes have been dashed.

This would have been my first trip to the United States.

Hey Karl
I'm on the east coast here in the suburbs of NY so I won't be able to make that long a trek. I made it to St. Louis and No. Carolina and these were my first two NG conventions. The we're fun but not as good as I expected after wanting to go to one for so many years. I will be in touch with you.

We will be there for sure. Will make my third one enjoyed the other two. Stop by and say Hi

two is a law firm and three or more is a congress.

I'll be there!

I am a member of the group organizing the convention and am the convention registrar. If those of you that are attending would like to drop me a note, I will be happy to compile a list of all forum members attending and have a list available for each of you when you get to the convention.

It is going to be a good one. We are going to have aroung thirty layouts open, including a number of featured layouts, such as Paul Scole's "Pelican Bay Railway and Navigation" and Ken Larson's "Westside Lumber" (featured in Great Model Railroads 2012). There are feature stories on selected convnetion layouts in both the March 2012 Model Railroad Craftsman and the current issue of the Gazette.

We have 50 different clinics scheduled. I posted a thread on that yesterday.

Planning on going with my wife. Plan is to fly Atlanta to Colorado, then Seattle, cruise to Alaska, then NNGC.

Seems about 30 folks from HON3CHAT will be there hanging out.

Laurie (Scoop) is doing 2 clinics on automation in HON3.

I plan on going and I know Rich Josselyn is planning on going because we are rooming together.

I last saw layouts in the Seattle area when the Narrow Gauge Convention was in Portland - was that '99 or so?

Anyway, it looks like it is going to be a great convention.

I plan on attending; already registered. Although it is just an hour-plus drive for me, I still plan on staying at a hotel for a couple of nights.

Sure got pumped up yesterday when I read through the Clinics list!

All be there, My sister actually lives 5 minutes from the convention center, guess where I'm staying?

I'm registered but was too late for the day at MRSR, I just might crash by getting myself there

Barry, do you know if there is a waiting list for the day at the MRSR? If so how does one get on it.
