Louis,

That image of the townsfolk taking the fresh country air in the new "open" railcar is priceless. The driver/engineman's pose, the folk leaning back and the wires flailing out the back make it look like that little car is really sailing. Do the brakes work??

Louis,

You're not the only one who paints the whole figure, even if it won't be seen by others. Tis a classic case of... "I'll know it".
Very nice build and it looks great. Let us know how it runs, when you're done.
Not sure I'll ever build one or anything like it, but if I do, You've blazed a clear trail to follow!

Thanks Mike for taking a look, and posting your comments.
On a test run it seemed to run just fine, so I'm hopeing once finished, and some weight added to the chassis, it will be a keeper.

Louis, really neat build. It’s probably a little late, but here is web site with ACX Mack rail busses at bottom of page. http://www.northeast.railfan.net/self_prop11.html If you look at the California Western bus it has all kinds of interesting details including marker lights next to the center head light.
Would love to see a video of this running on layout when finished.
Dave

Dave, thanks for your comments, and the web link provided. It is never too late for informative info.
I don't think a video will be happening any time soon. I'm still new to computers, and still don't own a cell phone. I'm old school, So my word on it running will have to do for now.

The head lights wiring has been installed into the roof section, with required 470r resistors added to the Yeloglo White 3mm LED’s used. A second spray coat of flat black will be done to conceal the wires and resistors. Then the roof section will be glued down in place.

I chose to go with the Digitrax DZ143 decoder for my motive power. After putting on the sides and compartment wall, I found that if you wanted to apply sound to this unit, that there is enough room to place a small Tsunami Sound Decoder or an ESU LokSound and speaker inside this unit with no problem. A feature that I can always change later if need be. Just the rear compartment alone measures ½” across the rear doors, 1” across the chassis, and ¾” high from floor to roof, making plenty of room for a decoder and speaker if wanted. Plus, the passenger compartment can be used if modified for extra needed room. As you can see, once the sides go on, anything can be on the floor from the figures shoulders down without being seen from the outside viewing.

Looking better and better, Lou! That's a jumble of wires to hide, too.

Thanks Chuck. Once those rear doors are up you will never know there are wires.

If you hide the wires as well as you hid the motor, there will be nothing showing. It is really shaping up now, Lou.

I have these moldable lead weights that I used to put weight into the Mack hood, seen on the top edge of the locomotive cushion, for the front truck weight. And, I used the pourable lead with thick ACC for the Railcar under chassis for overall Railcar weight. I guess this will be it for todays progress.

Nice job, Louis!

Recommendation... Add another layer of CA to the weights tomorrow to really seal things in. Don't ask how I know this....
