Bill,
Good to see ol' #2, did she run the hill okay?

Some thoughts and hiding the servos...you have already done the building one, but we can't have shantys littering the landscape. So I may have suggested that you have some hollowed out rock castings, or dirt mound, next up I would suggest pile or stack of barrels or junk, and then some new ties or old ties. I also thought this morning that one could use those small round magnets to secure the covering until it needs to be lifted. One could have a small bit of metal on the ground plus the magnet or just 2 magnets. Its a thought of the way I am thinking I am going to do. Kinda like hiding in plain sight. Keep up the good work bud, it are gonna have a RR real soon.

Thanks Andy, Tom & Les -
I may give the mold making a try today....Les, on the singlets...all are good idea
but I don't know about using rare earth magnets....I bought some real small round ones
that I was going to use to uncouple cars with....only one problem...they are so strong, they
derail the cars!!! LOL!
On the rock castings: I know it would look repetitive, but thats the way rocks look here
in Pennsy....but one thing, they all have the vertical drillings (for dynamite).....Those
could be carved in after the castings set....I'll try it later....
Right now, I am working on the second Frog Hex Juicer install. For the money, you
just cant beat it....controls 6 turnout frogs flawlessly....I may buy another just for
spare....I'll be back, 3 more frogs to hook up.....

Bill,
Sounds good, I was looking at all that rock on the way up to Hudson, trying to figure out how to model it...would be cool to have a large cut that had drill marks.

I don't know about the rare earth magnets, but any little magnet to hold cover down.

Just putzin around this morning, watching the snow flurries, and seeing the crappies dancing around laughing at me......
Formed a couple rocks to see if I can make some
molds and cast them in plaster of paris.....

Made one of them tall enough to hollow out and
cover one of the singlet servos...will post when that happens....
Worked on the siding this morning as well....I fibbed a while back when I said it would work inside the reverse loop....I had to reqire the loop and gap the mainline just past the siding, right before entering the tunnel.....I spread some "ground cover"....and soaked it with elmers 50/50 and wet water.....

Here's ol' #7 making a switch at the supply depot that will occupy the siding.....

Plan is to have machinery that is waiting for delivery to the future sawmill.....and of course some junque.....
Gonna go clean the workbench while the ground cover & rocks dry.....Comments always welcome.

Geezer, interesting idea hollowing out the rock to hide the switch machine.
A lot of nice progress on the layout as well.

I will probably have better luck today Tom...SE wind @ 8k and 65/clear forcast. But first, progress report:
This iw what I did yesterday, besides cleaning up:

I primed a tree that I have been saving for a special area. The primer is really darker than it shows. I will attempt at dry brushing some browns on the trunks ......

Thinking about these granite rocks for casting, and used ol "Smokin Joe" for comparison.

You all know what this is....LOL....part of the reason I am changing over to singlets servos....dont like getting under the layout....anyway, that's what I did yesterday.....
This morning, before heading out to fish, I did this:

Tore out the extra sharp bend in the track (14"-15")Anyway, anything bigger than small critters, #2 and a davenport started derailing there....When they say "tite-bond" the mean just that!!!!

New roadbed down.....
Glue drying......
Gone fishin' !!!
Comments welcome.....

Well....the track work won out over the fishing.....I got it all back in,
and working fine.
As soon as I climbed in the boat, here comes the wind....
since electric motors only rule applies, it would be shoveling stuff against
the wind....no control!! Grrr.....Oh well, this is better because this summer
the fishing will be good, and the track work would suffer...better to get it done now.
Off to decoder pro......

Bill,
Gutsy work my friend taking it out and doing it over. Yeah I agree on the radius for the shays and climaxes...18R, they should do less than that, but now with the way they are engineered.

Bummer on the fishing...bet it would have been a bit chilly too.
