Thanks Larry.... Well.....just to keep things in a turmoil, I just placed a order @ Black Bear Construction (standard disclaimer) for a new bridge jig and a ton of NBW's and stripwood. There is a 8 x 10 area at the end of my layout that needs a wharf area, so I will need some way to access the new area over water. I am thinking of a double arch bridge.... but that's a long way off....probably next winter. But this time, I will be drawing plans, no more "No plans, no mistakes" thinking......;-)

LOL Geezer, "No plans, no mistakes thinking.....", won't that take the fun and mystique out of it.
Careful of those NBW's, pretty soon you will be know as the king of the NBW's.

Good morning all - Well, the WL&M rr took delivery of some new equipment over the last few days..... First off the flat was a much needed shovel purchased from the Gauley River RR, almost free delivery was provided by the crew of the WL&M Co, #6, a refurbished 70 ton diesel that had made the trip to the floor on a previous occasion.

Later in the day, she was transferred to the site of the new mining town, soon to be under construction. Much clearing of "rock & rubble" will be in order.
Wilani Lumber & Mining Co. is indebted to the Gaulley River Division for making available such a unit for purchase. A tanker was also purchased, but is in the paint sshop at the present time. Thanks for looking in....comments always welcome.

cool shovel. its always "strange" seeing someone you've seen on one layout loads of times, then seeing it on someone elses but indeed looks great.
and the cars are cool! and who says the spoked wheels arnt proto? those trucks may have been for export, or indeed imported from say the UK and found their way to your railroad

Andy....you are right.....I once purchased a private roadname loco from a third party.....never knew who the original was. Then one day while surfing the rr web I find the loco in all it's glory on the owner's layout.....It was like doing some family lineage and finding your great, great grandfather was an engineer on the Pennsy!!

Been putzin around and gathering up stuff to take b ak up to the lake with me this weekend. Also been putzin around with a project for the work on my switchback. Here you go:
Bents for the new trestle....Round legs....
The "dark" stains are only A/I wash for touch-up, and will fade out.
Work in progress on the decking.....
 And, one more.....
Again, the stains around the nbw's is only A/I wash and will fade. There will be continuing nbw work throughout the build. You can see that I have installed them on both sides, inner and outer faces, so far. I'll be back shortly with more.....a bit of levity.... Comments always welcome.

One of the great things about narrow gauge railroads is that they were mostly run on shoe string budgets and a lot of equipment was shop made with whatever was on hand to fit the bill, so who's to say that the "spoked" wheels are not proto.
Great looking rolling stock by the way.
