Andy,
Great looking cabeese (plural of caboose?) you have there and great weathering on the reefer.
As for the railtruck, the possibilities are endless.

thanks chaps!
thank you martin! let me know if you want some money for them!
well a storm is here and more on the way, so spent the day indoors in the modelling room, quite worrying sometimes when the wind really picks up and lifts the odd tile up... but have made a good start on the 4 wheel boxcar the size of the chivers boxcar lends its self to this i feel, its TINY compaired to bachmann car. same chassis as under the caboose. althought rather annoyingly because of some bracing i added under the caboose, it rides slightly higher, just a touch, but still annoying.. anyway i wont go into to much on the boxcar since im going to start a thread showing how i did the wood colouring as i did on the BVM boxcars for the anniversary challenge.

the club has the hall hired tomorrow so we can get some work done on a couple of the larger yet unfinished layouts for the show.

so, when i went out to lunch the other week, we stopped by an art and craft shop, and i picked up these pens, ment to be used for touching up wood furniture, i dont think they are much more then cheap felt tip pens in shades of brown. being £1.99 one dosnt work, but the other two do, and even work nicely by mixing the two.
looks ok, bit dark, but could work for flooring or something.
also been working on a load for one of the flat cars larry cast years ago. im hoping, with my careful glue application that it wont be stuck to the deck.

also first coat of paint on the tank car.
looking forward to getting the decals on it
john, i started a thread in the car shops section of the forum, i should be able to start the wood colouring tomorrow having given the primer a couple days to set :)
also, because of my mothers past work, found a roll of dark fabric in the shed, its not black, or green, but a copper-ish with a square pattern, its not bad, and hopefuly may be enough to stop people walking into the table or kicking the legs... :D

Andy,
You got a few interesting rolling stock projects going on there.
As for the markers I've been using some made by Prismacolor and ProMarkers, they are alcohol based and I've had great success using them on wood.

Great looking stuff, Andy - my you have been busy!
Regarding the Frijolene connection between the Arizona Desert and Iowa, I understand the Consolidated Narrow Gauge Railways and the E&SG have signed an agreement to lease CNGR flat cars for Frijolene service. Frijolene will put modern tanks on them. Not quite positive that gets you all they way from Point A to Point B, but it helps!

one side done. the decals sat very nicely down, was also going to add a few extra ones from another set, mostly stenciled "danger" however for some reason they just fall away from thebacking, as if they have not been set correctly, a quick email to the maker and hopefuly they'll deal with it quickly.

Well done Andy!
Another winner.
The supply of Frijolene is well and truly catered for, both for now, and well into the future...
