A stock yard cries for scratch building.
Well, I've build my first one for my Diamond Valley module.

And the finished stock yard:

The second stock yard was for my module Silver Creek, narrow gauge already.

Now I've started with the third stock yard fom my narrow gauge town Salina.

Love it. Stock yards are not often done.
We find chutes, and corrals in the bush, around Calgary where cows grazing on public land are rounded up in the fall.
Feed lots are pretty smelly!
Put'em waaay down wind of sensitive city noses.

Great looking stockyard and a well done chute. It makes a nice foreground scene.

With modules everything is foreground. At one side or the other side.
Our modules are usually 50cm (1 2/3 foot) wide.

And with a height of 130 cm (51') it's just under your eye.

Or you're nice and give some people something to nitpick.

Well, I started with the loading chute for the stock yard at Salina. You see one ramp. I've used NorthEastern stripwood. 3''x12'' for the planks and 1''x3'' for the cleats.

The same with the walkways.

I've got more stripwood. Unfortunately I've got only 1''x6'' instead of 2''x6''. So I used only one type for the chute.

Here' the next part.

You see the 8''x8'' posts. I've used two-sided tape and "glued" the posts to it. Then I glued with white glue the 1''x6'' boards. One wall has still to get 6 boards more for the other deck.

More work with the loading chute.

At first I've glued the upper deck ramp.

Then I attached the lower deck ramp. You see also the 3''x8'' boards for the walkways.

And the ramp at the end of the work session:
