Good morning from Northeast Ohio! The below are cars that I have just recently finished.

These two cars are old Front Range Kits which I built. The first is lettered for the Wabash Railroad using Champ Decals. The second is an NW box car which was an old Wabash car in the same class as the first car. They were put in the B-75 class by the NW with a 3 added to the Wabash Car Number, decals by Microscale.

This is an FGE RBL which was the lease the DT&I took over from the PC. The last six cars in the lease were the centered door version rather than the offset side. They received the centered door version for the last 7 cars in the lease as there were not enough offset door cars (we need a model of the offset door car). Car was lettered with Herald King Decals.

This is a Walthers 4160 CF Airslide which I assembled, painted and lettered for the CB&Q using a discontinued Microscale decal set.

Thanks for looking Rick

Rick,

Another nice set of well done cars. As usual, I have some "favorites".

The "Q" airslide and the DTI, RBL.

Cool looking cars, Rick! It's great to see modellers still decalling their own rolling stock!

Here are some of the cars that I finished last week!

This is an IMRC PS1 car that I started 15 years ago, I finally masked the sides of the car and painted the ends black. I applied the lettering using Mark Vaughn's decals.

This is an IMRC PS1 car that I did after receiving my Details Associates decals. The decals called for an Athearn can but my research revealed that all the double door cars were Pullman Standard cars.

I recently purchased an old Rail Model Journal for an article on prototype FGE RBL's, included in the magazine were a set of Microscale Decals and a detailed article on building GAEX boxcars. I varied from the article in that Branchline Models has released a GARX reefer that I did not install the refridgerator door but instead installed an 8' sliding door. You probably can't read the little placard but this car was leased to the Wabash. I have another set of the decals and will do a lease car to the PRR and SGS decals gave me a set to do a PC car after the lease expired and the PRR purchased the cars.

Thanks for looking.

Here are a few more cars that I have just finished!

Walthers 4160CF Two Bay Airslide, lettered with Microscale Decals.

I found this car in an Article in Rail Model Journal that is on the following website: http://www.trainlife.com/, they have full copies of various years of Rail Model Journal and Model Railroader magazines. I used a Front Range single door car and substituted the door with a panel side door from a Robbins Rails PS1 boxcar. Letter with Herald King Decals, I had the decals but did not know what car to use until I found this article.

This is a Details West FGE RBL No. 700 Kit, painted Big Sky Blue and lettered with Herald King Decals. The cars were painted Big Sky Blue as the cars were leased by General Foods for their service as the EL was bankrupt at the time and General Foods did not want to lose the service of these cars. Big Sky Blue was General Foods corporate colors.

Thanks for looking!

Nice job Rick! I could use a few of these on my layout (circa 1980). Reminds me I still have some half done decaling projects leftover from baseball season that I should get back to and finish. Decaling freight cars is an easy to do task while watching a ballgame!

Thanks for all the nice comments on the cars that I have finished in the past.

These are cars I finished last week.

This is a McKeen Models PS1 40' Boxcar, lettering from Champ Decals.

This is a McKeen Models PS1 40' Boxcar, lettering from Detail Associates.

This is an MDC FMC 50' Exterior Post Boxcar, added extended coupler pockets and lettered with Herald King Decals. Again this is a railroad owned by the Owens Illinois Co. (Toledo, OH) that was in their Forest Products Division.

Thanks for looking!

Finished two of the three cars this week, the old DTI car was one I had to fix the couplers on and found I was out of couplers.

Athearn 86' Hi-Cube with Herald King Decals

Athearn 86' Hi-Cube that I made into a more Thrall Looking Car by removing the cast grabs and replacing with ladders. In looking at the pictures the AnnArbor started after the first weld line rather than at the door as shown with the decal and the pre-positioned spacing of the decal sheet. So I applied each letter for Ann Arbor separately. Ann Arbors 86's were acquired second hand and consisted of both Greenville and Thrall cars, this number is a Thrall Car. Herald King decals.

IMRC 40' PS1 painted and decaled in the Ferry in the Fog Scheme. Herald King decals.

Thanks for looking!

Here are first cars that I have finished in the New Year!

This is an IMRC 50' PS1 with Extended Coupler Pockets to replicate a NW Class B-16 car with an 8' Sliding Door and 7' Plug Door. Finished with Herald King Decals.

This is an Athearn PS5344 50' Boxcar with Extended Coupler Pockets. The Herald King decals are for the Mexican Built car so I re-arranged the decals to fit the PS car and added the PS Builders Plate and Cushion Service lettering from Herald King details set I had.

McKeen 40' PS1 lettered with Champ Decals in the as delivered paint scheme.

Thanks for looking!
