Rich J, this is an excellent capture of Brian's smile.
One I've seen often.
I can only imagine what Jon or Dave must of said to him to get that look.
Thanks for posting it.

Mario, thanks to you as well for the video.
A very nice remembrance.

That was a very nice video.
I met Brian at Cocoa Beach back in 2008. We had a couple of drinks and just talked about modeling.
It was great just to listening to him and learn some modeling techniques.

I will be going to his funeral service on Saturday.

I never met Brian, but was very impressed by his modelling, which I discovered with his winning diorama featured in Mario's video. He was a man with exceptionnal modelling skills. Many thanks to those who knew him better for sharing their memories and pictures. It doesn't make the moment less sad but helps to keep him alive in all our memories.

There were many sides to Brian's life.
Many were blessed, to share part of it.

Brian. I wish I could be there in person, with your many friends to celebrate your life. So I'ii say Goodbye mate and hope you look over my shoulder occassionally, while I'm at modeling table

Brian
Thanks for your inspiration,I will think of your modeling as I sit wiling away enjoyable hours at the work bench. When word of your passing came my first action was to stain and distress some strip wood---it just felt right

Thanks for the thread Mario. And thanks to whom ever put Mario's link in our local paper. Many of the firefighters and county employees that worked with Brian never new what an artist was in their midst. Almost everyone has called me and said WOW. I never new until two years ago myself and have known him for over 28+ years. I echo everyone else in saying I will miss him.

Mario,
Thanks for the memories.
Brian was such a humble fun loving person, who truly did make you feel like an old friend when you met him.
I am proud to have known him.

I was going to post some pics of Brian's work from CSS07 and noticed that all my CSS07 pages were down. So, I got them all back up and working right. There is a page of pictures of Brian's dioramas. If you go to "gallery" and visit the CSS07 link, you'll see a Brian Nolan page. I'll try to add a bunch more pictures of his excellent work this weekend. I always will remember seeing Brian's work at that show; I had almost never seen such excellent modeling.

I can't remember how many years ago it was that I stood outside the ESE in Springfield on a bitterly cold morning waiting to enter the Amherst Rail Show. The couple in front of me were having a hard time with the cold and when I entered into conversation with them, found out that they lived in Florida, which explained a lot. It wasn't until the first CSS show that I realized I was talking that cold morning with Brian and his wife. Boy do I wish I'd entered into a modeling conversation then, rather than talk about the damn cold.
