word to the wise. i found a plug for 9volt batterys and wired it upto a verible transformer, set it to 9volts. worked great for about 10mins, then stoped working....
the wires fried at the joints :( the black one at the plug, and the red one from somewhere inside the grass master. guess i forgot that just because its a 9volt battery, it puts out maybe 3.5volts... to say the air turned blue was an understatement, if i knew where the red wire went too id try and fix it myself :(
in a bit of a limbo, emailed the store where i brought it just incase they can cover a replacment since ive spent plenty of money with them im hoping so (not that i told them i pluged it in, since i didnt mod the unit) not really sure what noch could do if i had to send it to them

in other words martin/anyone else with a grassmaster, could you take and post a photo of the insides showing where the red wire gose if it back be seen, notice the black wire goes all the way to the front.

you have been warned!

Think you forgot to take care of the + wire, looking at the side of the battery it's the red one, no male or female plugs on a 9V plug, if it comes wired you have to change the red to black. Make shure polarity is good. Did check the voltage on a battery with a multi-meter and it puts out 9V DC, did a check on 9V transformers that come with several stuff like phones and so. Lots of them put out to 13V so watch it !! Asked for one that could feed a 9V floor pedal like an overdrive (guitarstuff)..

ahhhh crap, theres a + and a - switch on the transformer. all the wires on the transformer are black (did bachmann make it?....) guess that was it.

On with tree making, spraypainted the bugger with a cheap primer...

started to cover up the transition between top and trunk. Do this with a ready made mix of white glue, sieved MDF sawdust and a bit of colored latex wallpaint..

also added some to the heavy grained trunks to add a different texture...

Building 3 at the moment, but I would start 3 or 4 more now if I needed them to get it goin in drying times...Thats it for now, more to follow...
Stay tuned..

The tree texture is very good, Martin. Is it long to dry?

Let it set overnight Frederic, thin layer on the trunk dries fast but the top is a thicker layer and needs some time. If there wasn't more to do I would set up a few more, work on the other batch while the glue of the first one is drying..

Home at 17.00 customer at 20.00 and back home at 21.00 I managed to finish one of the trees.
First of al I added the fibers (wooly) shortened to pieces of 1/2 an inch to the branches with sprayglue and gave them a camo brown coat..

the camo brown black spraypaint show the tiny branches you have to cut away better, use big sharp scissors for this..

just cut away anything that sticks out to much...now the grassmaster comes in, adding 6mm staticgrass connected the grassmaster to the grounpin of the tree. just sprayed the outside of the tree with sprayglue and added the fibers..again a coat of black/camobrown..

closer look...

Well now it's time for the greens, cause it's 0 scale big tree's I skipped the 2mm fibers for tinier branches and used them for green, added with the grassmaster..

and a closer look..

and even closer..

My goal was to see if the tree could have a real needle look, this is my first attempt and I do think I can master tis technique even more..so far I'm pretty happy with the result..

Looks great to me.
