Roland,
Your use of the Golden Oak stain continues to look like a brilliant idea. I think that is one gorgeous sawmill, and I know Marty Jones would be proud of it!

Roland, I have seen your work, you are too modest. I am impressed with the size and quality of this build. It looks fantastic and will be a fine addition to your RR.

Thank you Bryan. Most of my good ideas are borrowed (stolen) from someone else.
Marty, I have been studying every photo I could find of your mill for months now. Nice to know I have somewhere to go to ask questions. Thanks.

Floor planking is in now except for the area around the saw. I think a lot of it goes under the planking so I will have to build it first. The floor will get a lot of dirt and sawdust as things are placed.

I also am building a wall for the end. It will be the only wall and I wanted it to hold a workbench and other details. The windows will be scratchbuilt because I didn't want a frame.

Thanks guys. I am a lot happier with the colors after I went over everything with chalks. The stain is a nice color but a little shiny. Made it look a little like a piece of furniture.
Geezer. Sorry but I can't work in a messy space. Everything has to be neat and clean. I understand there is a pill for this problem. Maybe next time I go to the doctor I'll ask him.

Roland, a really great thread that I just read from the beginning. I'm just catching on that the "On30 line" way is to start a thread, and then just continue it forever, embracing several builds. Your approach to the sawmill is great, and I'm really enjoying the build. Great craftsmanship on this and the rest of your layout.

G'day Roland, Been quietly enjoying your sawmill progress. The wood tones have a wonderful warmth to them, nice depth of colouring and subtle ageing to the deck and wall. You have another very nice mill below the glass to be inspired by as well. Keep up the with the progress record, its a pleasure to watch.
Cheers, Dan Pickard
