Bob, I think your structures look great, and fill the bill for your railroad. Compitition building maynot be your thing ,but your work doesn't suffer for it.

Bob, I'm sure that you're right. I noticed at that gathering that the 'locals' chose the Moxie over the national brand that was available.

Thanks Mark.

Got the roof on the structure. Of course I still have to streak and weather it and cut in
the chimney. That will come later, I do not know exactly where I want the chimney until I
work on the interior. Actually the roof is removable right now. I want to add the front door
and glaze the show window but I am waiting for a part for an old computer. I use my ALPS
printer to print white graphics for the window but the computer I use for the ALPS died.

Just another thing to work around.

I soon will be stopping model work on this structure so
that I can research vintage details for the interior, and than make them.

Bob

Made a barber pole for Zimmerman's. I printed the colored lines on the computer on reguler
paper, rolled it up, and inserted the roll inro a clear plastic tube (a piece of the tube that
comes on a new paint brush).

Turned two end caps from resin rod. The plan was to paint the end caps silver, insert the
GOW bulb into the tube and glue the caps on.

Here's how it looks mounted on the structure. I also got around to making a door.

Ray, I did the graphics in a simple DeskTop Publisher, Printmaster. I have an ALPS printer
that can print in white so I used it to print the sign onto clear overhead slide projector
material. You can find the same material to be used with either a laser or inkjet printer
but they will not print white.

I have in the past also printed signs on clear decal paper and applied that to clear plastic
window material.

If you need a window graphic printed in white contact me off forum at santmin@aol.com

Cheers,
Bob

Lookin' real good there, Bob ... and the barber pole certainly makes it official! My namesake grandfather was a barber ... my dad has one of his old tin Wildroot signs.

Bob, I love your strategy for making that Barber pole. I have a barber shop built already and I may have to go back and use your technique for the pole. Great looking structure!

Dallas and Mike, thanks for your comments.

Dallas, I have a collection of signs that I downloaded from the web, several are Wildroot.
There's even a great one with Fearless Fosdick and Wildroot. How many remember
Fearless Fosdick??

There are still many details that I want to add to the outside of the structure but I have
started working on the interior. I made and installed a back door and I'm working now
on the sink/counter/mirror unit for the back wall.

Hey Bob, this Barber shop is a coming along very nice!
Think I would be afraid to getting my hair cut here though.
Mr. Zimmerman the Barber might only cut the hair on the sides that you see from his nice front window.
A trick that he learned from you Bob.

More work done on the barber shop unit but it still has a ways to go. I'm making the small
stuff, sissors, combs, clippers, razors, etc. but I thought I'd show you how it stand right now.
