FIRST CALL!!!

We are now organizing the 2010 HO Scale Rolling Stock Interchange Program, and this is the "Official" first call for those interested in participating.

For those not familiar with the program, participants send one of their pieces of HO rolling stock 'on the road' to fellow participants, and receive other rolling stock in return throughout the year. At the end of the cycle, each participant receives their own car back, with quite a bit of mileage on it! As the cars arrive at their various locations, participants post photos of the visiting rolling stock on their layouts, dioramas, or even on club layouts or friends layouts. Photos of previous interchanges can be found in the "Interchange Tracks" at this link: http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=77

For a look at the 'rules' of the Interchange Program, just follow this link: http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8574

If you are interested in joining the program, just respond to this thread. Once we give the "Final Call" for the program, we will develop the list showing how the cars will circulate among the participants.

Count me in once again this year Bruce.

I'll be looking forward to sending out the Maine Lobster car across the nation.

This picture was taken shortly after the car made it's first appearance of the Hard Knox Valley RR. It's been a little banged up since then.

Bruce,

I'm in. Same shipping arrangements as in the past, if you please.

Surprising no one, least of all me, you posted the First Call on the day on which a buddy of mine and I destroyed about 80% of the railroad in order to make a better operating arrangement. My comment to him as we started was "Guess when they'll post the First Call for this year's Interchange!"

Dave beat me to the Kathadin car, so I'll probably send out a boxcar from one of my subsidiaries.

Oh. And I'll try to get some actual scenery done on the "new" area!

Count me in again this year. Perhaps something from the Best & Only will find its way across the country this year!

John, Karl & Joe,

Please PM me your mailing addresses and your e-mail addresses. I can then formulate the routing list to distribute to all participants via e-mail.

Thanks!

All,

I need to bail out of this year's Interchange Program. A month or so ago a friend and I were discussing various operational issues and he asked "Why not rip it out and start over?" After about a nano-second of thought I realized that he was right and that I had been thinking exactly that for years. When he said "I'll come up and help," he had me. Last week we ripped up about 80% of the railroad, most of it hand-laid track , pitched it into a dumpster and started over.

I'm looking forward to seeing what folks come up with-- right now I have a stud wall, part of a support table for a helix and a wall full of Official Chris (LVN) Lyon backdrop that I need to paint over because it doesn't fit anymore.. I don't even have a flat surface for track!

Oh well, such is "Progress!"

Have fun, and for the record, I reserve the right to jump in with comments from time to time!
