Had a couple pm's asking about our group so I thought I would start a thread.
October 4th was our second show, I forgot about The Great Barn Meet in May. This time we where a little more refined and organized. Just Trains in Concord Ca had their annual Open House. We arrived at 0835 and where running by 1005. November we will be at Railfair in Roseville Ca and hope to cut the setup time down a bit. Just Trains had a very unlevel parking lot so it made a bit of a challenge for us.
NCNG is Bill Iwan, John Cooper, Scott Robinson, Marc Pryor, Joe Melhorn, Dave Silvernail, And Steve Shiflett. We get together at least once a month. This is our first year so I am sure things will change.
Here are some pics from our last setup. Some may be have been posted before, but tried to get new ones up
Thanks for looking
John

Thanks for the pictures, John. The forested scenes on this layout are really beautiful. I like very much the second and third shots.

Stunning! Looks very woodsy...just the way I like it! What's the main commodity on this beatiful layout? Looks like logs to me! Cheers, -Chris

John, I saw several beautiful modular layouts at the NNGC last month, but this is the equal of anything I saw there. Great scenery and great structure modeling! Thanks for the photos - and please post more if you have them.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm a busy man. I have a railroad to run.

Thanks all for the positive comments.
No real commodity per sey, but we do have a couple strings of logs running around.
Our theme is Northern California logging 1930-1950's, but not hard set on that. Mostly just a few guys who get together to run trains. Two of us have garage size layouts, I am working on my 11.5 x 21' garage layout which will be the same era, so for me a mod will give me a place to learn some skills and have fun with a great bunch of guys.
Our next show is the second week of Nov. I will get some more pics then. The downside is that we will be indoors so the photos may not be as good.
Here is a link that I posted before, http://sierrarailroadmodels.com/index.html
It is Bill Iwan's site that has his great On30 layout and some info on our group.
Thanks again for the comments

John, Great looking layout. A very natural rural setting. The water tower in photo 5 looks quite large. Maybe I missed it, but what scale is this?

I agree. Quite excellent! How did you do the grass in picture 7? (where the town is in the shade). Is that the noch grass applicator at work?
Thanks,
Arthur

The grass was most likely done with a "Grassantor" Knock off of a Noch,
The water tank was aquired from a defunct RR, I have not measured it out, but looked good for the On30, it does look big in the pic, but real life it's fine.
I will get more pics of everything set up when we do our next show.

John -
Nothing beats natural light but I'm sure you'll get some fantastic shots even when indoors.
