Hi Jon,
You have to quit piddling and get to the scenery!! Looking forward to following your work, especially the scenery, as I get into it myself!!

I am trying to get my wife to do the Scenery as I like most working on locomotive and rolling stock and wiring. I like wiring because I am good at it. Tracklaying is somewhere in the middle. Might get to liking track laying better after I get to try handlaying or code 55 N. Maybe I will like scenery better after I do some. Sometimes I am too much a perfectionist. I want my rocks to be realistic and am afraid that the rocks will look like lumpy painted plaster that I have seen far too much in photos of model railroads. I am striving for excellence so much that sometime I let the best be the enemy of ok. Oh well I guess I will have to start at mediocre and work up.
Thanks for the response;

Jon

I hear you Jon but remember half the fun of this hobby is learning and trying new things. Scenery is a great one to work with because you can always correct any mistakes with just a little more scenery.

Rocks, if they are castings, are very easy to work with. You can repaint or weather them as many times as you want to to get the effect you want. You won't hurt them if you have to try, try again. If you ever get to sit through a clinic with a good scenery person, it will be well worth your time. Videos are also a good way to learn.

Jon,
I've looked over these before and really like the detail that you got. Didn't realize that you had posted them. I was interested because it is the same general locale as my railroad although you are a little further east with more hills!!
