Well this year will probably go down in history for me as the most expensive ever I probably got near $10,000 invested. Thats the price of a new layout build and my addiction to steam engines. The innitial cost of ws scnery stuff was a real blow. Its a good thing its just an entry cost , and my wife doesn't see my credit card

HI..
I would hate to know the real costs I have spent over the last 12 months. Maybe be $10,000+. I have sold and brought 2 collection, re-spent that on my HO scale layout. I have just re-started back in On30, dropped a K on that over the last month and there is still heaps to buy.
Over the next 12 months I will be slowing down as I feel it's time to get something done and stop wheeling/dealing. So back to the shed and "Hmmm where did I put that cordless drill"

I would estimate $50-60/month not including subscriptions to mags and receipt of gift certificates for Xmas, birthday, etc... nor travelling to shows....

Truthfully I most likely spend more then I thought previously but I dont save any receipt's except for the big ticket items. I dont want the incriminating evidence hanging around

Well, 2006 was bad enough...here it is 07 and if my find out how much I've spent so far , I might have to scratch build a dog house, for that is where I'll be spending most of my time

I have more invested in my future projects shelves than on the layout! I'm lucky though, my CFO (wife) is very understanding.

When my wife asks what some of my "train stuff" cost, which she rarely does, I say, "I don't hunt, fish, golf, smoke or hang out in bars." With that, the topic is dropped. Danny

Hah. At least $30 (Australian) a week. Possibly a bit more when I add in a few magazines. Roger, Brisbane

Never keep any records. My motto is: if I have to ask, I can't afford it. So, I simply equate not keeping track I can afford it and that's that. Peter

Good thinking Peter. If I paid for it, then I must be able to afford it.
