Don't now how many of you are into HOn3 but this email from the Hon3 group might still your itching feet.
This was posted to the Hon3 List email group and thought it might interest a few here, I know it excited me.

Subject:[HOn3] Soundtraxx K27s and Bachmann thinking about HOn3...
Mick, Joel and all,

Back in February I reported that Bachmann was doing the K-27 for
Soundtraxx. That information was given to me by Bachmann's Vice-president,
in charge of production, Bud Reece. This was at the WGH show here in
Denver. After I introduced myself to him and told him I was one of the guys
who had led an e-mail campaign to him a couple of years ago about Bachmann
doing some models in HOn3, he told me that they were doing HOn3. And then
told me about doing the Soundtraxx loco. He also said that they, Bachmann,
were thinking about doing an HOn3 loco on their own. He wouldn't go any
further.

This information was confirmed, if it needed to be, by Duane Miller,
owner of Caboose Hobbies. I told him what Bud had told me and he was
interested and a little surprised because he is the buyer for the store for
Bachmann items and knew nothing about this. So, at dinner that night, he
said something to Bud about understanding that Bachmann was making the K-27
for Soundtraxx. At that Bud kind of smiled/grinned and said something about
it being so hard to keep a secret. He never asked me not to share it, nor in
any way did he indicate it was not for general consumption.

So, yes Bachmann is making the K-27 for Soundtraxx and is apparently
thinking of doing some HOn3 loco on their own. What that might be, and
when, is unknown to me, at this point. It may not ever happen, but he did
say they were thinking about it. Hope this helps.
Duncan

So Gang if you are looking at all the On30 stuff and thinking I might have to try it, take heart in the above email.

If Bachmann does make an entry into HOn3, it would completely change that aspect of the hobby for good. I left narrow gauge because of the lack of affordable motive power and because of the domination of the D&RGW prototypes. Let's stay tuned!

Barry,
There's no hope of settling us 3 footers down!! I must secretly admit I did buy the Bachmann C&S 2-6-0 Set and some On30 track and turnouts but it all seems TOO BIG !!
It will make a great Cayo Loco ...........one day.
