Welcome to the Photo Gallery for October 2003!

As announced in September, the theme for this month's Gallery will be Tunnels and Trestles.

An Indiana Harbor Belt train crosses the sanitary and ship canal, going South by direction and East by the timetable. This bridge was once a swing bridge and it has been heavily modified to handle modern heavy traffic. The train is enroute to the Blue Island Yard, Southwest of Chicago.

This is a better shot of the tunnel. I had to get some N scale volunteers to go inside and place lights inside the tunnel so I could gert the shot.
