Since we have been discussing backdrops for the last two days, I thought I would post a couple of photos of mine. For those who have been following the discussion, the clouds were made with the homemade stencils I described in a couple of postings.

The first photo was taken in an area of my layout that is pretty much completed. The second was taken tonight in an area that is obviously nowhere near completion.

Thanks, guys.

Jim, the mountains were done in the same fashion as the clouds. I used spray paints and hand-cut stencils. The mountains are supposed to look like my area of the Ozarks.

Hey Mike, Those look fantastic, and you keep telling me you don't have much done on your railroad! Bunk!!

You mentioned having to paint the edges of the foamcore board black. They have a foamcore board that has black foam with black paper on both sides. I use this in building show displays. It's available at most art supply stores.

The clouds look real nice as do the mountains. Gads I need to get to work!

Rusty, I didn't know about the black foamcore stuff. Apparently Walmart doesn't know about it either.

I'll have look for it the next time I go to Michaels. Thanks.

Mike, There's a lot Wal-Mart doesn't know about! I'm not sure Michaels has it either but you can try. I have a School & Art Supply store near me that carries all kinds of it. All different colors of paper on white foamcore and black on black foamcore. I'd try the largest art supply store in your area.

Here is a picture of my backdrop on the west side of my layout. The background in the picture is for your enjoyment.
