Posted - 11/11/2020 : 11:41:46 AM OK I'm starting this build thread for the Junkyard Dog.
This is a resin kit by Tom Yorke in collaboration with Lambert Locomotive works.
I have long had a photo I received in one of Tom's packets he used to sell of what looks like this locomotive, done as a watercolor print which has long been a favorite, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on one.

NICE GOING Dave. I'll give you 2 "Atta-Boys" for that. |

Posted - 01/20/2021 : 07:15:05 AM Thanks for the kind words everyone!
Karl this dog will definitely hunt!
Everything needed to get it into the field is ready to go.
I'm just a little behind as some big changes in my life have required me to move all of my modeling stuff from my spare room down to the basement.
Once I get everything unpacked this is first on the list to finish up. Two week if my plan goes as expected.
As a bonus, the changes include a 13 year old boy who is showing an interest in model building as well as trains.
What!?
Of course I plan to cultivate that interest as much as I can! |

I just read thru your build. You created a critter with a lot of character. The final weathering job is quite convincing!

Posted - 01/09/2021 : 09:36:10 AM That is one outstanding looking Diesel. Your weathering is over the top! Not only did you produce a fine looking loco there Dave, but did a paint job that's top of the line workmanship. |

Posted - 01/06/2021 : 06:58:54 AM Thanks everyone! I'm pretty pleased with it.
Frank you need some livelier friends, try looking on the beach.
Jerry thanks for the "push" earlier to get back and involved in the forum again.
Philip, I'll be using a Tsunami 2 with a capacitor and setting it for the GE 44 ton center cab Caterpillar engine.
Love the sound for this and its smaller size should make it easy to get it and the speaker under the hood. I cut off about a 3rd of the back part of the engine print to give me just a touch more room in there. you only see the front part through the openings anyway.
Enjoy the day everyone. I'm off to Morris Ill. and back today. No snow in the forecast so it should be a nice 11 hour ride. |
