A 1/35 scale U-Boat Diorama
I am going on a new journey, into 1/35 scale. Dave Revelia is planning a 1/35 sub-pen diorama inspired by the photo below.
The people that built this diorama are asking an astronomical price for it. Iíd have to trade all 3 of my Lamborghiniís for it.

Jerry I've been down there and seen the place. Believe me it's well worth the trip!
Frank you could also throw in a dead body or two as well.

This is just plain old excellent modeling.
Wish I lived closer to see this in person!

Beautiful modeling, Dave. The setts caught my eye in the third photo. A lot of repetitive work there.

Humm, water color or is it colour . . . Sub Pens at St. Nazaire, FR.
Don't forget the pens are right off the Atlantic Ocean so there is plenty of clean water flow through the basin.

I hate to be critical being as you guys are light years better modelers than I'll ever be but that water is way too light blue. In a industrial port area the water usually looks dark gray or even black. Oil slicks are common as well and of course loads of debris/trash floating in it wouldn't be out of line either. If you want to be really accurate you could also throw in the bad smell as well!

Great work on this. I am curious as to how you plan on securing the plane into the water, to make it appear floating on or into the water?

A few more shots of the progress made.
This is the base of the dry dock with several of the scaffolding parts made.
The water is started with the tug and plane sitting on top ready to be installed.
I'm starting to add smaller detail as the larger areas near completion.

I canít wait to see this tomorrow. I saw it Saturday and it looks like there is a lot of progress since then. I have said it before but the pics donít do the model justice. When all this crap is over, you all need to head our way to see this and all the other displays at The Center!!
