Hi Everyone...

Here are a some shots of some recent builds I am finishing up on for my own layout. These two are being used as background shallow depth buildings up against my back drop. They were fun builds. Both are nearing completion - at around 90% and will be soon added to my layout.

HO Scale - Sherwin Williams Building: This is the left over buildings from the ITLA (Imagine That Laser Art) Coopers kit. I had used the other building to build out the Pep Boys Auto Parts building I had previously posted. Building is pretty much stock, and just added a number of additional details, signage and some castings. Nothing too complex or fancy at all. I really like the Coopers kit - 3 buildings and you can really do a lot with the kit parts. I chose to make these separate builds. Happy with how this one turned out.

HO Scale - Yaletown Fabrication: This is another ITLA kit, well actually tow kits combined together. It is the "D Building" flat background kit, and I joined two of them together to double up the size of this building. Again, really happy with the kit and look of it. I added a variety more details and some custom signage to build it out. Still a bit more to add, but like the look of it. Pretty shallow building, so fits great against the backdrop. The build was too wide to fit into my Photobooth and I don't really know how to stitch the picture together, so have posted pictures of both sides.

Here are the pictures from my two recent builds:

Thanks Jim. They are really good kits to work with and I like them quite a bit for my background buildings. I add various details and they all blend well together on my layout.

Well crap!!! I have no idea. Well that really sucks - I have no idea what I was doing there. Gee... dunno how I miss-spelled that so badly. Typo and I just never caught it. Damn, I will need to make a new sign and fix that. Thanks for catching that.

Karl,

Very well done indeed. You're very adept with the coloring of the brick and the mortar. And the details look carefully painted and installed. Both buildings have a convincingly gritty, grimy backstreet look.

Nice looking additions for your layout!

Did you know that in Providence, R.I., in addition to a statue of its founder, Roger Williams,
there is a smaller lesser known one of a little short man in rumpled, paint splattered coveralls holding up a paint roller?

...his long overlooked half-brother, Sherwin! :)
Maybe you can get a replica for the parking lot for your building :}
