Posted - 08/06/2012 : 4:29:33 PM Gentlemen I need some advice. I am building a logging railroad (Choctaw Lumber Company) in On30, but using On3 couplers. The layout is based on operations of the Westside Lumber Co. and the Direks Lumber Co. in Southeast Oklahoma. Should I post my progress in the Logging Forum or in the On30 forum? Thanks |

What a small world! This is Andre Ming from waaaaay back in your Fort Smith, Arkansas region years. Good to see yer still kickin'( (But I'll bet 'cha ain't kickin' as high as you used to!) Saw your name and link to this thread from the Early Rail forum here at RL. Your new layout is looking good, and you've still got the goods when it comes to building models!
Hope you and all your family are doing well. I still live in eastern OK in Poteau. I retired off the railroad April of this year and enjoying every minute of it.
All fer now!

Howdy,
Joe, nice looking roundhouse. I guess because you are from Arkansas, you can call a square building round...
How far along are you on the machine shop interior?
Happy logs, Mike

Joe,
Not your run of the mill enginehouse. Excellent job. Is it a freelance design?
I particularly like the photos with the locomotive.

Posted - 06/01/2018 : 10:22:53 PM I am using the same terminology that was used by the Westside Lumber Co. They called there two stall engine house a roundhouse. Mine is an engine house and machine shop and car repair shop all in one.

Looks good, Joe !!
Not to be technical, but isn't that more of an engine house than a roundhouse?

Posted - 04/01/2018 : 11:24:44 AM It is funny that we can have big work area, and work on the four inches next to the edge...
Desk after cleanup...
Happy rails, Mike |
