Posted - 05/06/2012 : 2:06:14 PM Hello, My name is Patrick and I model HOn30. I recently purchased a Micro Trains HOn3 log car and was surprised at how simple it was. I started digging around in my styrene box and made something similar. I plan on using JB weld and sand for the mold since its heat rated to 600 degrees, but I have never made a mold or poured lead, do any of you have any recommendations? |

Posted - 05/06/2012 : 3:33:55 PM Patrick, check the Micro Mark web site for more info http://www.micromark.com/casting-and-molding-supplies.html and you can also call them for help.
Also, Smooth On http://www.smooth-on.com/ has a lot of great info on metal casting.

Posted - 05/06/2012 : 2:10:49 PM Patrick,
I haven't done any of that type casting. However, you might want to post your request over at the HOn30/HOn3 forum as well.
