Posted - 11/01/2003 : 3:10:36 PM This morning, between rain showers, I happened to look out the window and saw this interloper taking its leisure in the shade garden next to the patio.

Of course, She-Who-Rules-The-Yard took exception to the intruder and barked furiously and bravely, albeit from a distance. She continued to bark long after the hapless creature had ambled back to the woods until I wacked her with a broom because she was driving me .

Posted - 03/29/2013 : 12:18:32 AM We've been cleaning up the river bank over the past few days. Today as I was dousing the fire before we left, I heard a tap-tap-tap-tap sound and discovered this guy (or gal) in the photos below that I snapped with my cell phone...

Of course, s/he had to check me out as well ...

Posted - 02/16/2013 : 10:47:53 PM I think it was 12 Dave. I'll ask my buddies I went with, they are all hunters. Here is another pic but it's not clear in this one either. Gary

Posted - 02/16/2013 : 9:41:56 PM Earlier this week I returned from a ski trip to Wolf Creek Colorado. Every afternoon when we returned to my friends house in Southfork this guy was waiting for us. He would wait in front of the shed where the corn was kept until he got fed. Beautiful creature. Gary

Posted - 01/26/2013 : 9:15:45 PM I took this photo of this Barred Owl today. I guess it was time for a little snooze. The sun feels good.

Posted - 01/20/2013 : 4:50:08 PM Thanks Dave,
I used a Nikon D200, F5 @ 1/800th shutter speed, ISO 100. Lens was Nikon 70-300VR @ 168mm.
This is the last photo just before he made his turn. Same settings for this photo. I cropped this photo quite a bit.

Posted - 01/20/2013 : 3:40:33 PM What's great about that shot is how you snapped it in motion, and in focus! What's the camera/lens/settings for that shot?

Posted - 01/20/2013 : 3:38:41 PM Thank you Rick and Chuck. He caught me by surprise - he was flying level left to right and when the Egrit got about 30 feet to my left, it descended rapidly, turned and flew right over me and landed about 40' in back of me. Lucky shot I guess.
