Yes I know my latest 'new starts' have begun with a picture of a perfectly clean desk, no clutter and plenty of space to 'spread out'. But this one arrived mid-flow in Chambers point and how could I resist? (despite my vow of never again starting a new project until the current one was complete, or atleast almost complete )

Yes, like some others I do most of my work in a 4" x 4" 'clear' space on my bench with everything else , ummmm , 'close to hand'.

A small kicker board under the bottom board to kick it up at an angle. exactly the same principal as if you were laying shingles. A kicker board under the first row.

Hey Guys (or Walt),
I'm getting ready to do a board-by-board build which will have clapboard siding.

As I recall, when I built this kit Walt had instructions to place a extra board under a clapboard to help keep the face of the siding even. What I can't recall is if the board went under the first or last clapboard applied. My old instructions to the kit are lost in a storage locker somewhere, thus I'm unable to reference the instructions. I was hoping that someone could help out my old brain cells and take a peak at the instructions for me.

Thanks in advance.

Not much has gone on with this build other than all four walls are standing

Signs and currents are in.Still have to give the walls another A/I.

Thanks Bruce and Don. I've come to the realization that clapboard is my favorite type of buildings. I also realized the a 1x3 and a 1x4 is way to close in visual comparison.

Lynn, you are certainly keeping busy. I'm looking forward to seeing your rendition.

Looks good, Lynn. I enjoyed this kit a lot. Looks like you're off to a good start.

Thanks guys. With 3 builds on the go it'll be slow and hopefully steady.

Great start, so far, Lynn. Love the woodgrain and the colouring! I'll be checkin' in often!

Some fantastic build ups have been done I only hope mine comes out half as nice as the others.

Windows and trim are finished.

Both Dave and Jan have posted additional pictures of their completed builds in the "Final Pictures" thread of the Mike Chambers Challenge. See http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=29308 for the photos.

Thanks for the kind words Kris and the inspiration, and occassional nudge to keep moving, during my build. Also thanks to everyone else who has commented and for your encouragement as well.

Of course, after a couple of months steady work on this kit, now I have to find something else to keep me occupied. Any other challenges or group builds of smallish kits that don't cost a whole lot in the offing.

Great looking structure Dave in the other locations which have the completed scene and structure. For those who may not know of the pictures I reference, Dave posted some pictures of the structure fully completed and set in a scene in the "Final Pictures to the Chambers Challenge" and some additional pictures in the main "Chambers Challenge" thread. One set is of the structure lighted at night and the other set is in the 'daytime'. Again, well done Dave!!
