I started building this structure in the "Build a model in two months thread." P62
http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21438&whichpage=62

So that I dont clog up that outstanding thread with this build I decided to start a new thread here. I will pick up at the point I am at now.

The original thread that details the siding process is here ...
http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19925

The original thread for the window construction is here....

What you mean you haven't figured out how to scratch build your details yet, LOL?
I like the for rent sign, how much does the space rent for?

I go and check out the other thread, thanks for the refresher. Pat

This one ?

I have no plans to 'populate the street with details at this time , mainly because I dont have the $$$ for the details and also I am enjoying just building the structures for now.

There is no how-to on the street as it is just a test bed for things and techniques I am trying out to see how they work, I just put the structure on there for the photos as I thought it would look better than just being sat on a board.

The thread in which we discussed sizing plans/pictures was the Elkhorn build thread, I think I answered in that thread but will need to check to be sure.

Take care,
Karl.A

Karl, I can't quite read what it says on the second sign frame on the roof?? The extra little touches on the first sign look terrific, I have to learn beyond what the original use was for certain things and see a shape that will work for something else. Now you say this project is finished are you not going to incorporate it into a diorama with Little peeps and trash cans and so on? Love the road as well as the building with all its charm, did you do a how to on the road? Also we had talked in the planning stage of another members project about how to convert the drawings and can't remember the name, since it was before I went on vacation and killed a few more brain cells. Do you recall the thread and if you have had time to do the work. Thanks so much Pat

Terrific modeling Karl, I really like the low angle shots of the storefronts. Outstanding
scratchbuild with many good ideas.

Thanks Kris, I see we were posting at the same time.

Merci Frederic, it sure is nice to start getting into the habbit of completing these builds.

Your welcome John, thank you for the posts along the way, and to everyone else, they keep me motivated as well as helping me.

Karl, this is a magnificent build. My friend Alexander Zelkin was there this week-end and I showed him this structure. He, too, found that it was an extremely beautiful work. Congratulations on finishing it!

Karl, that's some really incredible scratch building! Your solution for the fire bell is brilliant! And the whole block of businesses is beautiful. Great stuff!
