Arrived in Portland on Tuesday. Had to leave Thursday noontime . Had guests from Hamilton, Ontario to play host to. Wish I had more time .
I didn't get to meet many of the forum members. Met Nicky O, and the ever popular Mario. Early Wednesday morning, I was able to take photos of some vendors and the dioramas on display. Will be posting pics as I can.

Posted - 09/14/2007 : 8:32:44 PM The Cooper's garage I find unusual when I look at the photo. The interior studs are not cross braced with stops or nailers and the boards are running vertical. The only place they appear to be held is at the top and bottom. It seems the boards should run horizontal in this case? Unbraced and nailed boards would warp and be very weak. It's nice but that just caught my eye. Jerry |

Posted - 09/12/2007 : 6:29:39 PM Again, beautiful pics of a very interesting modular layout. Nice engines, nice buildings, the details one expects on a O scale layout. Very pleasant. |

Posted - 09/12/2007 : 3:04:32 PM Can't recall if this has been noted previously, the NG conventiion site now has a list of contest winners, with photos of some of the bigger ones. Also other photos and links to sites with photos, including the great ones by our moderator Rick. Even a link to my photos too! http://www.27thnarrowgaugeconvention.net/

More from the Module's Room.
I saw this modular layout at the Detroit Convention and liked it a lot. I was glad to see it again in Portland.

Posted - 09/11/2007 : 10:24:51 AM The young lady made a very beautiful diorama, indeed. The Sn2 layout features some very nice locomotives, beautifully detailed. Thanks again for posting. |

Posted - 09/11/2007 : 09:10:47 AM Best model by a modeler 17 years old or younger.
There was only one entry in this catagory, but it was a good one. This was built by a young lady and her parents own Trains and Trooper. She did an excellent job on both the structure and the scenery. The stone foundation on the barn is made of individual pieces.

Posted - 09/10/2007 : 6:50:19 PM G'day Rick
I probably try and add more of your photos to your web page this weekend. Then I need to add many more of mine... which are more of an overall birds eye view of the convention..
I'm working to earn a dollar to pay for Portland, Oregon, as this time I will have a Kiwi chick with me... I'ii need to behave next time round |
