Posted - 03/24/2007 : 1:51:33 PM It is beautiful here in Mamaroneck so here are the outdoor pics of Duffys. Please note that I know nothing about photography so I took as many shots as I could moving the diorama around so the sunlight hit all sides. A noted forum member told me to photograph the H out of it so I hope you guys don't mind that there are a lot of pics. Again thanks to all on the forum for your very nice compliments on this build. Posted - 03/25/2007 : 06:21:29 AM Beautifully done Kevin. Even though you caused the price of this kit to rise on eBay so that I cannot afford one right now, I really enjoyed following along on this build . I know I'll be returning to the thread to pick up a few tips.

I am going to miss watching your Duffy's thread. Thanks for taking the time to post all of the photos & your helpful ideas. You have done a great job building this great kit. You have inspired me to try to find it & build it for myself.

Posted - 03/25/2007 : 03:12:57 AM Stevie Thanks to the one and only "Forum Philosopher". You always point out stuff that I never see (the shadows under the trestle). You are the best!! Thanks, Kevin |

Nothing like that big ol' candle in the sky to bring out the exceptional care and skills you put into this diorama. The deep shadows really make it POP 3-dimensionally like no other light source can.
Just to discuss one aspect of so very, very many that speaks to me: The closeup of the coal bins beneath the trestle, just check out that incredible array of shadow shapes projected onto the walls etc. from the overhead structure. Pure abstraction going on there. And the fine job on the tractor paint and weathering shows clearly how well done just this one detail is.
Overall, it passes the ultimate test, standing up proudly to the light of day. Everything seems just right, not a flaw to behold.
It's been a treat to follow this build over time. I look forward to your progress on your new build, the Pile Driver.

Posted - 03/24/2007 : 6:09:47 PM Outstanding workmanship. I get so much inspiration from your work. I can't wait to photograph my kit outdoors. Unfortunately today it is snowing so I'll have to wait. It would be very enjoyable spotting a car on that trestle. Thanks for the exceptional pics. In one of your comments in your post, did you mention you would be at the craftsman structure show with this kit? Or maybe I am thinking of someone else's thread..... ################################################################################################ |
