Well, I hope you do not mind me starting this thread. Here is a preliminary drawing of what I think the structure looks like, What do you think?

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Karl,

I would say that you definitely have a spot on model of the cockeyed building.

Looks even more realistic when you take the model and include some scenery.

Great job and I am sure you have motivated a few such as myself to get off their duffs and build this thing.

Great build! I had to read the following postings to realize that the second photo was the model! So much for my powers of observation?! Your success will cause me to go back over the entire tread with a future scratch build on my part in the up and coming months. (After I finish a few dozen other projects first though!)

It's hard to tell the difference between the picture of the building and the picture of the model. Excellent!
I've noticed that when I look at pictures of my models that I see things I didn't see before, too.

That's a real good job.

Geez, Karl, I had to look twice - more than twice - between the first and second photos to realize the second photo is your model! Terrific job! You've "nailed it", as they say!
UKGuy Posted - 03/18/2007 : 10:23:38 AM
Thanks guys very much appreciated, especially coming from this group

Outstanding,,,,you've accomplished an absolute clone of the original. Right down to the broken window glass and dab of paint on the door.

It's also amazing how you've duplicated the exact camera angle of the original prototype structure.

Stevie O'

I guessed that "dab of paint" was the letterbox, if i understand which one you mean, and I kinda messed up the angle when I just retook the picture after the corrections I made above, but its still close.

Thanks again.

That's a terrific piece of work, Karl. You got all the crazy wall angles and swaying roof lines just right as well as the weathering and details.

Congratulations. One one heck of a job. simply some outstanding craftsmanship.

Truely a work of inspiration and a tribute to your great skills-you did what I thought was impossible!
Rick Posted - 03/18/2007 : 07:41:59 AM
Karl, I think you nailed it perfectly. Great job!
Dutchman Posted - 03/18/2007 : 07:38:42 AM
Karl, all I can say is WOW!

That second photo really shows how well you have captured the prototype!
UKGuy Posted - 03/18/2007 : 06:21:26 AM
Well Bruce on 2/19/07 I said this.....

Now I can go play with some scenery...

Thanks for the inspiration and support its been challenging fun with more to come.

EDIT Funny what you can see in a photo but you cant see when its right in front of you.... I made the chimney shorter as it was too tall, made a new smaller sign as the other was too big and I installed the fascia boards to the roof, I dunno how I missed that the first time around.
Dutchman Posted - 03/16/2007 : 3:26:12 PM
Boy, Karl, it sure does look like you've nailed the sway in that roof!
