After enjoying so many construction threads on this forum, I think that time has come to show something for your enjoyment. At least I hope you will enjoy.

I am building one of these big machines that can unload a truck in one turn, like a Le Tourneau for example. I dont have exact plans for the prototype - only a side elevation and a view from above.
So I am forced to do some guessing...

I have done the very first steps. Looks horrible to me.

Jens , this is some excellent modeling and as Bruce has said you are way to modest, I was wondering how do you problem solve to come up with things like the tires?? The only book I have about modeling with styrene is by Evergreen and does not cover anything like this. Thumbs way up, Pat.

You are being way, way too humble. This is fantastic modeling!

Jens, that is first rate work all around! Your method for the tires was really impressive! This is an excellent example of what can be done in styrene.

Thanks for the how-to and all the pictures!

What a great piece of scratchbuilding.
The fact that it's in HO scale is just incredible.
Thanks for the "How-To" photos.

Painted and re-assembled. Logs, decals and a weathering have still to be added. Hopefully I can take the vehicle outdoors in purpose to make better photos next weekend.

I am satisfied with the model. At least I havent disgraced myself...

This is one completely anazing piece of scratchbuilding!
I'm completely blown away, Jens!
I can't wait to see what the paint shop does!

That is some impressive modeling.

Thats difficult to determine. I began the project 12 days ago and I usually spend 3 to 4 hours to modeling each day. But much of the time I only sit there, look at the model and try to figure out what the next step will be. Have to figure out, how the parts will interfere with other parts and in what sequence they should be added. I am not cutting and glueing all the time. ;)
If I have to do it a second time, I am sure it will only take a third of the time.
